Chicken soup is the only cure for the common cold. You should rub honey on a beesting. My grandma said the best way to cure hiccups is to stand on one foot and drink a glass of water upside down.
Do these home remedies work? Not all the time. What about sin? What’s your remedy to get rid of your past, present, and future missteps? Ignore them? Bury them in an addiction? Point out others who are worse than you?
What about when problems come your way, whom do you rely on? You may battle illness. You might have problems in your home or even in your school with friends or classes. When all these things weigh you down, what do you do?
The only cure is Jesus Christ. “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1). Jesus is the Lord over all sins and troubles.
The devil might tempt you to think you have to solve or come up with a cure on your own. You might become too proud to take it to God, or you might be tempted to think he doesn’t care. But your comfort lies in the fact that God is always available and always willing to give you the strength you need to overcome obstacles and to accomplish great things for him. Pray to him for help!
Jesus is the cure for all sin and trouble because he is the Lord.
