My family and I recently watched the movie Twister. Have you seen that one? Experiencing a tornado live or even witnessing its destruction from afar can be life changing.
In our lives, we sometimes experience tornadoes of different kinds. We might see death happen to another family, but then the winds might hit us directly as we stand by the grave of a loved one. We might hear the howl of a broken marriage with children left to pick up the pieces. Or in the middle of a life storm, we might feel the strong winds of doubt and despair pulling us in every direction. Permit me to show you the Storm Stiller. This is not a story with Jesus in a boat but at a wedding with his disciples where he changed water into wine: “You have saved the best till now” (John 2:10).
If Jesus can take simple water and make it into prize-winning wine, think of what he can do and is doing in your life. When you are in the eye of a storm, all you see is the storm. Thankfully, you have the Bible’s stories of Jesus’ miracles to remind you that the sun is still shining and the Son is still very much active in your life, whether you see or feel him or not. He allowed his body to be twisted and pummeled to give you peace, security, and THE BEST.
Hold on and take cover in Jesus; he’s got this and you!
