No bones means … he lives!

Neil Armstrong was the first to ever walk on the moon. Shortly after, he went on a tour of the Holy Land. When Armstrong made it to the steps of the temple, he sat down and wept. He said later that he had walked in many different places, but being in the place where his Savior walked was the most meaningful.

But of all the places we know with certainty that Jesus walked, we do not know where he was laid to rest. Search as you might, you will find no grave site containing the bones of Jesus on which the epitaph reads: “Jesus of Nazareth, the Crucified.” The apostle Paul said, “If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins” (1 Corinthians 15:17). He went on to say, “But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead” (1 Corinthians 15:20). No one knows where Jesus’ grave is because in all the supposed sites where people think he may have been laid, there are no bones to prove it.

What does that mean for you? I’ll let Jesus tell you that. Jesus said, “Because I live, you also will live” (John 14:19). Jesus’ empty grave means yours will be too. And when he returns to take you to heaven, your gravestone will read, “He is not here; he is risen.”
