Do you remember Richard Dawson, the original host of the game show Family Feud? When he would tell a contestant to “name something you would bring on a camping trip,” the player would think for a moment and respond, “Toilet paper!” or, “Sleeping bag!” Then his or her teammates would cheer, “Good answer!” The bar was set fairly low, to be honest. As long as the player didn’t blurt out something like, “A Jacuzzi,” the teammates would shout, “Good answer!”
When the apostle Paul was arrested, he appealed to Caesar, as was his right as a Roman citizen. As Paul sat in jail, God lined up meetings for him with various leaders. At one, Paul shared his conversion story with King Agrippa and a court of high-ranking military officers and bigwigs of Caesarea (Acts 25:23). After they listened to Paul’s testimony, Paul asked Agrippa if he believed what the prophets had written.
“Then Agrippa said to Paul, ‘Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?’ Paul replied, ‘Short time or long—I pray to God that not only you but all who are listening to me today may become what I am, except for these chains’” (Acts 26:28,29, see also Acts 25:23–26:23).
Good answer! When God gives you the opportunity to share your conversion story, do it. What will that person do with it? God’s grace demands a response. By the power of the Holy Spirit, may they too give a good answer.
