A young pastor was talking to a seasoned pastor about the heartbreak he felt saying goodbye to his wife at the airport. Her visa had not come, so he had to fly the 13-hour, 20-minute flight to a foreign land alone. There were tears, an embrace, and the whisper of, “I love you and will be thinking of you.”
This heartbroken pastor lamented it was the worst feeling he had ever felt. The aged pastor listening to this young missionary put a positive spin on the situation: “How blessed it is that someone cries over you and thinks of you. Many in life do not have that blessing.”
How about you, dear reader? Are you like me, where you can be in a crowded room and still feel alone? Like no one gets you?
Or maybe you have one of those big foam hands with the pointer finger pointing directly at you with the words, “Thinking of me and only me.”
“I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord’” (Luke 13:35). In this verse Jesus is mourning over the loss of Jerusalem, but the context is much more. He is showing 100% resolve to show the world and YOU that he is thinking of you! Nothing was going to stop Jesus from saving you, forgiving you, and making death but a sleep for you.
Alone? Tired? Worn out? Know that you are thought of by God and that makes you blessed.
