What’s the best room you’ve ever stayed in? I’ve never spent a night in a five-star hotel, but I have been in a few gorgeous rooms, the ones where the mattresses are softer than mine at home and the bathrooms are bigger than my bedroom!

Living in luxury makes me excited for our eternity. Jesus promised us, “My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am” (John 14:2,3). 

Heaven is not like buying a sprawling house in the good part of town or getting a hotel room on game day weekend. It’s not reserved for the richest and most successful people in town. There’s room, Jesus says, for you. What Jesus said to Peter, who was hours from denying him, he says to sinners like us, who have denied Jesus in different ways. Despite our major spiritual flaws, there is still room for us in heaven. Jesus went to prepare our places, and he will come back to take us there. He promised, and Jesus never fails on his promises.
