Open up the Bible, and you will see the blessing of angels in the lives of God’s people. An angel wiped out 185,000 Assyrian soldiers threatening Jerusalem in a single night! Angels with flaming swords surrounded an Aramean army and saved the prophet Elisha and his servant! Do you have an angel story? 

I remember seeing a deer come out of a ditch while I was driving, giving me no time to react. I was about to obliterate that deer and vice versa! Then I saw the most amazing thing. The deer tripped. He was held up for a fraction of a second, and he crossed the road right behind my car. I didn’t see an angel with a flaming sword, but I wonder if an angel stuck out a wing and gave him a little trip!

Who knows how many times God protects you through his angels without you even knowing it. And the greatest way that angels have served us was when they didn’t act. When our Father in heaven refused to let them intervene when Roman soldiers were putting Jesus to death on a cross. That inaction saved our lives, not temporally but eternally.

Even if you can’t think of a time when you may have been blessed by angels, rest assured that you have angel stories. After all, God promises, “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways” (Psalm 91:11).
