Exult every day!

Note the word in the title: Exult, not Exalt. To exalt something is to raise something in esteem. Certainly, we can exalt our Savior-God for all he’s done. But we can also exult, which is to be extremely joyful. When do you exult? Perhaps it’s when you’re in church, focused on God’s promises. But what about on “Start of the workweek Monday” or “Stressed out about kids Tuesday” or “Laid off Wednesday” or “Problems with the marriage Thursday”? Why don’t we exult every day? Have God’s promises changed? No!

“But in the Lord all the descendants of Israel will be found righteous and will exult” (Isaiah 45:25 NIV84). Jesus has entered through the gates of the heavenly Jerusalem. Do you know who else will be there lining those streets paved with gold one day? You and I will. The books of our lives will be opened, and we will discover to our amazement that Jesus made everything good. Not because we could get to him by what we’ve done but because he came to us to wipe the books clean of every sin by what he’s done. Don’t miss what the prophet Isaiah says it means for you. You can exult. You can hold your head up high and rejoice no matter what happens during the week or what people say about you or think about you or even what you think about you. All that matters is what God says about you. That perspective means you can exult every day!
